What is the Feed An Officer Campaign? Serve & Connect created this community-driven campaign to show appreciation to our law enforcement by providing lunch to local police stations. Last year, the campaign raised enough money to serve lunch to 564 officers across 29 stations and over $10,569 in gift certificates to local restaurants for off-duty officers.
How does it work? During the campaign, members of the community donate money at participating restaurants for local police officers. On the final day of the campaign, money raised is distributed by Serve & Connect to local stations as either a catered lunch or gift certificate. All money raised will go directly back to local restaurants!
When is it! The community campaign runs from November 24th to December 9th. Lunches and gift certificates will be delivered by Serve & Connect on December 14th.
Why December 14? December 14th is Officer Gregory Alia Day in Richland County and the City of Forest Acres. Officer Alia was an officer with the Forest Acres Police Department. He was killed in the line of duty on September 30, 2105. He is remembered as a hero for how he lived and served his community with respect and compassion. Serve & Connect was founded in his honor.
